Whose woods these are I think I know …

I take her, painless, through the glass.
Her dress tears off. I covet that.
The glass is beautiful, sharp and steep—
the way the cracks just stop. At the table’s feet.

Each wooden leg curls into a lion’s paw.
escorted by toes, in the center, a claw
that rips into the carpet, but will not tear.
I love the dress; I hold it near.
