eye of the bull, head lowered, about to gore me.
You are not Antares, the falsely young, speaking
scarlet and jovial, close to the milky breast.
Unlike them, you endure no companion, faint
to others, but unspeakably dear and absorbing.
No power is hidden or taken from you. So I ask:
   Arcturus, make me as proud as you
to be old, bloated gold-vermilion as you are,
