A good spring for twings.
Our besoms cleansweep anew
in our boulevards
made for wind and sand
and birds on straight-line maneuvers.
Sweeping, we keep one-eyed watch
on the crowd of men gathered
behind Me shrieking woman at the corner‚
that woman, the one
who holds her body sideways
when she crosses streets.

Not a menace to the public Order:
The authorities are willing
to grant her that.
I myself have seen these words
stamped on her pass.
We others, keepers
of the city’s hearths
and homes and funerary urns,
