During the Interregnum a piece of music was constructed that was deemed so sacred that it was played only once. The score was then hidden in a vault. And it was forbidden, on the pain of death, to be aired ever again. But, as one can be led to suspect, the tune was so captivating that there were thousands who could never quite extricate it from their minds. The country was therefore sealed off, all foreigners were expelled, and the cities were emptied.
