Yellow Striped Pajamas

walking silently on his paws, he emerges from the semidarkness and disappears into it.

Adjusting my thoughts, you are luminous,
throwing a planetary light on the room.
Numeral calculations done in blood
were wildly calligraphized on white wood.
“Wall Street says that cake sales are low”
Or to put it bluntly
“Cake is fizz”

skewer the sieve of the optical sewer
release the handle that holds all the gates up
I didn’t understand before
how a mango can burn—
Then you came down from Colorado
to meet the rushing waters that passed through an open dam
Who would have thought—too much simultaneity:
The Swan Planters hovering above the windbeaten
Statue of the Virgin Mary who casts her gaze down
So strains of your argument bear
great darkness and then gleam,
and I do not lose the rhetoric of your approach.
You cannot see the writhing at its core.
There is a kind
of whiteness to the day,
