Poem of the Day
Yellow Striped Pajamas
By Shamsher Bahadur Singh
walking silently on his paws, he emerges from the semidarkness and disappears into it.
walking silently on his paws, he emerges from the semidarkness and disappears into it.
Bottom line, it doesn't have one;
or if it does, it's for the souvenir value,
a knickknack marketed under ghastly light
Concoct the stories of your own life.
The masks and costumes assumed from infancy.
Make up the true things as well as the lies.
The two of us are young enough to dream
we’ll make it out alive, somehow escape
The light seems somehow brighter brought to rest,
entangled in the far bank’s canopy—
Really, mothers, have you been listening? You have forgotten your spectacles and your hearing aids are beeping but you cannot hear them.
When we showed up for the reading drunk, John,
We were in celestial form, unmixed
Who cares which car or truck
shattered the groundhog’s logic
Far above the malleable half-rib floater,
a sudden unexpected pain
The movie starts with a man sending pictures of himself,
like all movies do,
Then you came down from Colorado
to meet the rushing waters that passed through an open dam
