Poem of the Day
Yellow Striped Pajamas
By Shamsher Bahadur Singh
walking silently on his paws, he emerges from the semidarkness and disappears into it.

Collect and recollect. These things I do
within, where, present with me is the world
Low-hanging clouds, pond-mesmerized,
Whittle slim-stemmed flagons from their subtle waves!
The camshafts of heaven will outlive the axle trees.
And seven centuries later, you are born while somewhere,
another flood threatens.
Something about what matters
Breathes in the twilight blushing
Everything here on the piers.
See also: TIMELINESS/UNTIMELINESS.
Somebody’s shroud is in a twist
Bend and ripple in the heat waves,
Stippled streaks of skin cooked
Raw, blushing rose.
Squibs of passion … these are all
My marshaled senses can recall.
Look at you, cutting and weeping. Idiot.
